That’s right, design and fashion icon who has just about run this industry for over 60 years now is set to build an international hospitality brand, Karl Lagerfeld Hotels & Resorts. This includes luxury hotels, restaurants, private members’ clubs, and residential buildings. Though there have been no photos or sketches released to the public on Lagerfeld’s design, they will most likely mouth the iconic aesthetic known Karl’s creative work.
Pier Paolo, the president and CEO of the Karl Lagerfeld brand announced in a press release, “Expanding our brand into the hospitality sector reflects our greater vision to broaden Karl’s comprehensive lifestyle experience.” He has joined Amsterdam-based hospitality company, Brandmark Collective BV. Established in 2015, the brand has already generated more than 25 hotels around the world. Brandmark CEO Tony Kurz informs us that the goal for this collaboration with Lagerfeld is to deliver a concept that “celebrates the designers unique talent and approach to fashion and lifestyle.”
As you find yourself digging for more information on karllegerfeldhotels.com, it does nothing but beautifully capture in a few sentences the very essence of Karl and his concept for this endeavor. Appearing on the screen sentence by sentence it reads, “A man larger than life, a force of nature, the fashion guru on the futures edge. But Karl is more than a brand, a universal symbol… Experience the world through Karl’s lens.”

This is not the first time Lagerfeld has shown us his work in the world of hospitality. He was responsible for overseeing the design elements of a massive 6-star hotel in Macau, China, and a few lobbies including a Miami residential complex and the estates at Acqualina. He also consulted on the Sofitel So Singapore and designed some of the suites at Paris’s Hotel de Crillon.

Lagerfeld will be joining plethora of other designers and brands who have ventured into the world of hotels such as Versace, Baccarat and Armani. So have no fear, soon you can slide on your Fendi loafers, grab your Chanel duffle, and sleep, eat and party Karl style.
